Dreams don’t happen over night, mine for sure didn’t.

I started this journey as an author as a way to release stress and anxiety. My debut novel that I’ve created came to me in a dream, fueled by my love for the movie Tangled and a life long obsessiveness over Disney princesses. What really pushed me to this path I am on now was when I created a bookstagram, and started talking to other indie authors who convinced me to start writing, and well, a series was formed.

Writing helps me escape the stay at home life, where I have two wonderful kids, Charlotte and Colton. Being a stay at home mom is such a wonderful journey, but it can have its hard days. I started jotting down ideas one day for a book, thinking it would never become anything worth sharing. In those free moments that my children gave me, I started to dedicate more time to writing and found my passion in life again.

A little bit of a backstory for you all - My husband, Damien, and I are high school sweethearts, and he is my biggest supporter. I wouldn’t be pursuing any of this without his encouragement. I originally went to college to become a teacher. I got my associate’s and bachelor’s degrees, started to go after my teaching license, only to be hit with reality. On a particularly rough day, it dawned on me, I didn’t want to teach anymore. I was missing so much with my babies, and felt too exhausted every day to even put any effort into being a wife. My husband and I decided I needed to take a step back from my career, stay home, and start homeschooling our kids. The education system where we live is falling apart, and we knew in our hearts our kids would be better off with me teaching them at home.

So, here I am. I quickly took to writing, and found a new dream, one that I know for sure is what I’m meant to do in life. Becoming an indie author has brought love back into my life in more ways than one, and I can honestly say that I feel more myself than I have in years. I want to be a role model to my children, letting them see that their mama is accomplishing big things.
